Week 3 Reading Notes: Saints and Animals, Section B

Saints and Animals, Section B

There is a story about a boy who is discarded in the forest and raised by wolves. It reminds me of Tarzan. He gets stolen away and becomes content with his new life in a palace. In later years he returns his wolf mother's gift by protecting her from a hunt and inviting her and the rest of his wolf family into his house for dinner everyday. I really liked this story.

The next couple stories in this section are ballads, which I have always found incredibly boring to read. I was looking for another style to write my next story in, these just clarified what styles not to try.

I really like the story of Saint Francis of Assisi, though I wish that there was more background information on how he got there.

  • Do research to see what his history is and how he became such a great saint as well as how he became so poor.
    • If there is nothing, which I hope there isn't, the I can make something up as my story for this week!
    • Maybe use the journey of Voltaire as the history of Francis? "Happiness come from tending your own garden"
